FN Spy: Look Who's Running in Boston

The famed marathon will include some familiar footwear faces.

Ready, set, run. The Adidas-sponsored Boston Marathon is one week away, and the famous race will include some familiar industry faces on the course.

“I decided to run because it’s the oldest marathon in the world,” said Luca Rossetti, co-CEO of Fratelli Rossetti. But the exec isn’t a first timer to 26.2 miles. “I have participated three times in New York, twice in Berlin and once in London and Prague.”

West NYC owner Lester Wasserman also will be making his Boston debut, in Asics’ Gel-Nimbus style, his shoe of choice. “I would love to break 4 hours, which would be a personal record,” said the retailer, who has completed two prior marathons.

And while in town, Wasserman also hopes to check out other footwear shops in the area. Boston’s The Tannery is sure to be on his hit list, and co-owner Tarek Hassan happens to be running the marathon, too, as well as President Philippe Meynard.
