With the Final Four set to begin Saturday at the Georgia Dome, Saks Fifth Avenue picked the right weekend to debut the Willis & Walker men’s collection at its Atlanta store. The line of men’s wear for guys 6’2” and over is designed by former NBA player Kevin Willis, who was in the store Thursday for a collection launch party and who planned to be on hand to meet and greet customers throughout the weekend. Ten percent of the sales from the collection through Sunday will be donated to The Atlanta Children’s Foundation.
“We look for local talent,” said Tom Ott, senior vice president and general merchandise manager of men’s wear for Saks of Willis, who played for the Atlanta Hawks and lives and designs his collection there. “It’s part of our plan to build theater and have an interesting assortment for our customers by finding unique, local artisans.”
Willis said Saks is also putting the collection in its Houston store and he will visit that city next weekend for that debut.
