Osman Yousefzada relaxed his silhouette with a collection that elaborated on themes of escapism and exoticism. Beginning with a black-and-white palette, he showed architectural shapes that were softened by silk draping, then segued into a refined color scheme that included lime green, indigo, Wedgwood blue and silver. A large inkblot print, derived from the carpet in the designer’s studio, appeared on a kimono wrap coat, a low-cut sheath dress and a tailored jumpsuit.

Cameos worn by the Maharani of Jodhpur inspired the pearl-beaded circles that appeared throughout, and were especially beautiful on a long belted coat of white brushed cotton and on the embellished patchwork silk top, skirts and strapless dress that closed the show. A tassel motif added to the Eastern flavor, appearing as an oversize, hand-drawn print on a lime coat that was trimmed with black fringe, and as flattened silk tassels that were sewn on delicate silk tops and skirts, giving them a feeling of playful opulence.
