Monique Lhuillier RTW Spring 2015

One always knows what to expect from Monique Lhuillier — a collection that makes women look beautiful — and her spring show delivered and then some.

Preshow, Monique Lhuillier said she was inspired by “the early-morning sunrise, all the pastel shades as the sun is peeking through the clouds.” And the colors she used for her spring collection were indeed soft and pretty, with pale yellow, mint, lavender and shots of metallics making for a bright and luminous lineup.

Revealing a playful side, Lhuillier showed rompers, shorts and peplum tops that felt young and fresh for day. For evening, there were sugarcoated gowns and cocktail numbers that played with volume and texture. Other key looks included a floral embroidered top and skirt, an ombré gown and a liquid-satin strapless scuba dress in a petal hue. Although the collection at times riffed on Dior, overall these confections were perfect for pretty young things in Hollywood — and beyond.
