Marchesa RTW Spring 2015

Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig paraded one of their frothiest collections to date in a lavish room at Banqueting House in Whitehall Palace.

Showing in London to mark the 10th anniversary of their label, Marchesa’s Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig paraded one of their frothiest collections to date in a lavish room at Banqueting House in Whitehall Palace.

Georgia May Jagger strolled out in a tiered gown of floral embroideries and fluttering tulle, cueing the bohemian mood of the show and its main decorative motifs.

The delicate, often diaphanous fabrics telegraphed a mood of fragile femininity, with one gauzy gown resembling a pink fog of flowers nuzzling the body.

At times, the overzealous decorations — pileups of sparkly fringe, lace, tulle and silk threadwork — broke the spell. Yet the intricate embroideries were impressive, especially feathers approximating the petals of peonies during their last days in the vase.
