Three emerging designers bridging the gap between the American and Korean markets were the focus of the presentation.

Three emerging designers bridging the gap between the American and Korean markets were the focus of the Concept Korea presentation.

At ready-to-wear label Leyii, London-based designer Seunghee Lee featured primary colors in fluid dresses and tops. She used natural curves in her silhouettes and vivid colors of purple, red and yellow, which reflected her inspiration from mobile artist Alexander Calder. Highlights included a white-collared cotton blouse paired with a purple silk skirt and pointy suede mary janes, and a jacquard printed silk top paired with a black pencil skirt.

The brands Resurrection and Beyond Closet focused on casual men’s wear in street and punk styles.

Resurrection designer Juyoung Lee used high-tech mesh fabrics structured in masculine silhouettes. One key look was a black linen and cupro sleeveless jacket and pants paired with sandals.

Taeyong Ko, Beyond Closet’s designer, fused a tough collegiate look with pinstripes and graphic elements. A noteworthy look was a striped sweater over an emblazoned wool blazer paired with denim shorts. Reebok Korea collaborated on the Nineties-inspired high-top sneakers.
