Seeing Blue Backstage at Honor Spring 2015

Blue was the “It” color backstage at the show.

Blue was the “It” color backstage at Honor. Channeling a young girl who falls for a bad boy, Polly Osmond for Beauty.com used Kevyn Aucoin Cosmetics to create deep blue lids that winged out at the corners. “We kept it very natural everywhere else,” said Osmond. “On the lips we used a gloss with a little bit of matte on top for a just a bit of color.”

Nonie Crème for Beauty.com created a play on polka dots for the nails. She concocted a custom mixed bright blue shade from her namesake polishes and painted faux nails, then glued on pearl beads to make them three-dimensional. “These are easy — I wasn’t staying up until four this morning,” Crème laughed.

For the hair, James Pecis for Beauty.com used Phyto products to create low ponytails with volume. He had the girls flip their heads forward and used a pea-sized amount of Professional Matte Texturizing Paste to add lift underneath so the hair wouldn’t look greasy on top. Then, he gathered the hair into a loose, low ponytail. “Usually for this show we do something with hair, whether it’s accessories or braids,” said Pecis. “This season, we needed to pull it back to keep it simple. It’s quite a look with the eye and the nail is going to be the most full-on nail of the week I think.”
