NEW YORK BRED: Lela Rose’s runway guests have grown accustomed to leaving with her signature almond biscotti, but Sunday she did them one better by sending them off with a sampling and the recipe. In an Eat, Drink, Dress Lela foldout card, the hospitable designer spelled out four recipes and a pairing look from the spring collection. “Obviously my clothes are so much about entertaining. I love this idea of talking about, ‘Where are you going?’ What are you doing?’ ‘What will you be wearing?’” Rose said backstage. “And you know me — I’m practically having a dinner party four nights a week.”

Though ABC Kitchen would be handling lunch for Rose and her team Sunday, Christian Francis Roth, who helped teach her the ropes when she first moved to New York, caught the show, as did “Arrow” Modern women are working actress Katie Cassidy. The latter will launch a fashion blog TomboyKC under the premise that “modern women are just as equal as men. We can compete for the same jobs that they do and we should be able to wear the same clothes that they do,” she said. “It’s all about an inner confidence and feeling sexy whether you’re wearing a vest or stilettos.” The Californian was also reveling in the New York scene. “Yesterday I got these amazing Gianvito Rossi thigh-high boots. And the stylist was like, ‘Where are you going dressed like that?’ “I said, ‘I don’t know — the grocery store?’ I feel that New York is just the kind of place where you can wear whatever you want, be whoever you are and the people are so down-to-earth, interesting and real. And they want to work hard. That’s how I am. I feel like I’m more of a New York girl than L.A.”
