Elie Semoun and Ludivine Sagnier were among the attendees.

AT THE ZOO: Four movies to shoot, five to release — that’s what Ludivine Sagnier is up to these days. Next in line is the independent road film "Tristesse Club," "a very sad comedy with Vincent Macaigne," said Sagnier. There is also an adaptation of the French cartoon "Lou!" "I play a mom who is completely depressed. She’s a geek. She plays the ukulele and her PlayStation all day," said Sagnier at John Galliano on Sunday.

Although the French actress has such projects lined up, she deplored the state of France’s independent movie industry. "Especially in the mid-budget range, between 2.5 to 5 million euros. It's getting harder and harder,” she said. “You need a TV channel to back [you] up, and they only target a certain [viewer]. But when you go to Sundance, the amount of low-budget productions is huge. Obviously, we don’t get to see them in Europe. But it’s the kind of movies I like to watch, and the kind that ends up at the festivals collecting all the prizes."

Sagnier came accompanied by her sister-in-law, singer Mai Lan, who said she is already working on her new album to be released next year. "There will be more synthesizers, a bit more electronic," she said.

Elie Semoun conceded it's the funniest thing for him to assist a fashion show. "The way people dress and the way they speak — it’s a different lingo. It's like going to the zoo," observed the French comedian, whose autobiography "Je grandirai plus tard" ("I will grow up later") was published last week. But isn’t he too young for a memoir? "Yes, that's what I told the editors," he said.
