IN THE NAVY: At the Jil Sander show on Saturday, Berlin-based Hannah Herzsprung, daughter of actor Bernd Herzsprung and fashion designer Barbara Engel, said the brand is “ a family tradition” as her mother was also passionate about the Hamburg-born designer.
Herzsprung is shooting “Who am I?” about the “hacker activity scene,” due out next year. “It’s about finding one’s identity and pretending to be someone else,” said the actress.
Meanwhile, Jil Sander is further developing its Navy brand as an independent, “contemporary luxe” label, according to ceo Alessandro Cremonesi. “We are boosting a dedicated retail chain, eyeing expansion in Asia, and working on the collections’ price positioning,” said the executive. To wit: The first Jil Sander Navy flagship opened in Milan this month, as well as a temporary store in London.
