NEW BLOOD: With founder Gaby Aghion in attendance, a new generation of actresses stood ready to fly the flag for French brand Chloé at the ready-to-wear show marking its 60th anniversary on Monday.
Marine Vacth, who once appeared in a fragrance ad with Vincent Cassel, said she just played the lead part in François Ozon’s next film, tentatively titled “Jeune et jolie” (“Young and Pretty” in English). “It’s a girl with multiple facets,” was all she would say of the role, adding that Ozon had requested a media blackout on the shoot.
Cassel’s half-sister, Cécile, showed up wearing bright pink lipstick and a purple dress. “The weather is nice — you gotta,” she said of her color-charged ensemble.
The actress is trying her hand at comedy with a supporting role in the upcoming “Paris à tout prix” (“Paris or Bust” in English), the story of a fashion stylist who is expelled to her native Morocco after her French residency permit expires. “I’ve been in comedies before, but I wasn’t supposed to be funny, so this is the first time that I get to try that,” Cassel said.
Victoria Olloqui has also been beefing up her fashion knowledge, thanks to the “Chloé: Attitudes” retrospective at the Palais de Tokyo. “I learned a lot,” she said. “I didn’t know a lot of the designers who worked at Chloé in the past.” So is there such a thing as a Chloé girl? “Frankly, if we’re not it, then I don’t know,” Olloqui shot back.
