SOCIAL CALENDAR: All eyes in the verdant gardens of the Bulgari Hotel Friday night were on the nubile acrobats from Cirque du Soleil. They were entertaining the crowds gathered for the launch of the Roman jeweler’s new Monete collection.
Nicola Bulgari, vice chairman of the firm, made a rare appearance. However, the tall, distinguished executive will increasingly be the point of reference at social events going forward, as his nephew Francesco Trapani, former chief executive officer of Bulgari, joined the executive committee of the company’s new owner, LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, taking the helm of its watch and jewelry division.
