THE MUSIC WOMAN: Despite the early start Monday, Stella McCartney had her star-studded front row bopping to a soundtrack that jumped from Maluca’s “Lola” to Cake’s cover of “Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps.” François-Henri Pinault and his wife Salma Hayek joined Sir Paul McCartney and his fiancée Nancy Shevell for the show at the gilded Palais Garnier. “She has the best taste in music and clothes. Wasn’t this the best collection ever?” the former Beatle raved after the show.


Twiggy said she was about to leave for the United States, where her Twiggy London clothing range is sold on HSN. The Sixties model is also preparing for the Nov. 21 release of her album, “Romantically Yours,” featuring love standards by the likes of George Gershwin alongside classic songs from the Sixties and Seventies. Her favorite is Neil Young’s “Only Love Can Break Your Heart,” which she sings in a duet with her daughter Carly, who works as a textile designer for Stella McCartney. “She’s got such a great voice, so just as a mummy, I get quite tearful when I hear it,” she said.


The Pretenders front woman Chrissie Hynde has put music temporarily on hold. “I’m trying to take a bit of time off really this year, because I got grandsons, so I’m just getting into that,” she offered. Artist Dinos Chapman, wilting under the venue’s Klieg lights, was nursing a severe hangover from living the rock ‘n’ roll life. “It was a hotel room destruction sort of thing last night,” he sighed. “The mini bar will never be the same, so that’s why I’m sweaty. I’m just absolutely dying. It’s hideous. I just look like a dead man.”
