Front Row at Sonia Rykiel

ON DECK: Celebrity faces stretched from one end to the other of the disused warehouse where Sonia Rykiel showed her spring collection on Saturday. Sky Ferreira, Leigh Lezark, Izia Higelin, Marie-Josée Croze, Lou Lesage and Pauline Lefèvre were just some of the predominantly French crowd that turned out for the display. Model-turned-singer Imany, sporting a chic turban, was in the middle of a European tour following the release of her debut album “The Shape of a Broken Heart.” “I think I’m not going to have a life for the next two years. That’s what my producer told me,” she laughed.

Vahina Giocante was sitting bolt upright – the side effect of preparations for her upcoming movie “Turf,” in which she plays a jockey. “It’s very physical, and very intense,” she noted. Béatrice Rosen was rehearsing the play “Les montagnes russes” (which translates as “Roller Coaster”) opposite businessman-turned-politician-turned-thespian Bernard Tapie. “It’s a real challenge, because it’s just the two of us on stage for an hour and a half, and I play a character full of surprises, so in fact it’s more like four characters in one,” she said.

Zoé Le Ber said she was working with a dialect coach to get rid of her French accent for the upcoming English-language movie “On The Deck,” which will shoot in Morocco this winter. Meanwhile, stand-up comic Florence Foresti attracted a swarm of journalists hoping for some off-the-cuff comic relief. “The show is in the room, as they say,” she commented, surveying the scene. “Fashion inspires me a lot, for its darker side. Having said that, I think Sonia Rykiel is probably the least annoying of the bunch.”
