At Saturday night’s Monique Lhuillier show, LeAnn Rimes posed obligingly and smiled nice as can be.

RIMES WITH: In recent weeks, LeAnn Rimes has been hounded by the paparazzi for bikini shots of her rail-thin frame. But at Saturday night’s Monique Lhuillier show, she posed obligingly and smiled nice as can be. Having her formerly-married-costar-turned-new-husband Eddie Cibrian at her side may have helped the situation. It certainly pleased the lensmen.

Asked why she thinks the media is so fixated on her figure, Rimes said, “I have no idea. I just don’t pay attention to it. The thing is I know exactly who I am and that’s all that matters at the end of the day.”

Work also matters to the Grammy winner. “Lady & Gentlemen,” her first cover album due out Sept. 27, zeros in on songs done only by men. Her personal favorite? “He Stopped Loving Her Today.”

Nearby, Mandy Moore stood tall in red patent leather pumps as she was blinded by photographers’ flashbulbs. Her fashion week initiation paled in comparison to her mission to help Population Services International and the United Nations Foundation end malaria. Her efforts took her to Cameroon this summer and the musician plans to voice her concern about how the parasitic disease that kills one million people each year is affecting children in Africa. “It’s a little surreal to be talking about this here,” she said, gesturing towards the jostling photographers.
