Guests discovered Jason Schwartzman hitting the drums.

WORKING CLASS: For their first presentation at Kenzo, Opening Ceremony founders Humberto Leon and Carol Lim got a little help from their friends. Guests ambling through the label’s headquarters, a 17th-century mansion done up for the occasion in bright pops of color, discovered Jason Schwartzman hitting the drums, Chloë Sevigny walking the catwalk and Spike Jonze playing video games with Julez, the six-year-old son of Solange Knowles.


You wouldn’t have guessed from looking at them, but they were all working. Schwartzman wrote the soundtrack of the show, which sampled Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” and was complemented by live drums, cello and bass. Jonze was making a mini-movie about the event, but not before killing some zombies with Julez, who was playing “Plants vs Zombies” on the director’s phone. “You have to plant different things to kill the zombies so they don’t come in your house,” he explained. Knowles was looking forward to DJing at the after-party. “Tonight we’re getting dirty and grimy and play some Gucci Mane and TLC,” she laughed.
