Clean and classic was the order of the day for the beauty looks, but with a minimalist twist.

Clean and classic was the order of the day for Tommy Hilfiger's beauty looks, but with a minimalist twist. "I'm not reinventing the wheel, but for Tommy, I am," said Eugene Souleiman, working with Wella at the show. "Tommy is about girls looking beautiful, but he normally does bouncy, all-American looks. This is a real departure." Souleiman made a deep center part, then spritzed Wella's Shine Finish, a liquid protein, on hair and flatironed it. Next, he pulled hair back into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck and tied with a small piece of cotton elastic cord. "It's so easy to do something wacky," said Souleiman. "It's harder to do something classy and expensive-looking."

 

Diane Kendal, working with MAC Cosmetics at the show, also kept things spare and elegant. She started with MAC Comfort Cream and Studio Finish concealer as a base, then swept Pro Sculpting Powders in Bone Beige and Sculpt under the cheekbones and up into the temple area. In the crease of the eye, she used MAC's Extra Dimension Eye Shadow — a new launch for spring 2012 — which she applied with a brush. Eyes got a pop of Silver Dusk irridescent powder to catch the light and a touch of Pro Cremeliner in black. Lips were kept plain with Pro Lip Erase.

 

Daphne Allende, working with Priti NYC at the show, used Coronation, a pale pink, on fingernails and Spring Song, a beige-nude shade, on the toes.
