PARIS — “I felt there’s like a nod to ‘Mars Attacks!’ and a kind of nod to Parisian couture,” said hairstylist Eugene Souleiman backstage at Rochas, in discussing the upswept coif he conceived for the show. “It’s a bit sci-fi, a bit Fifties — and it’s just beautiful. It’s about something just being really well done. There’s a strangeness and outer-worldly feeling about it, but it’s not weird.”
“She’s almost like this kind of perfect beauty. She’s just gotten off a spaceship,” continued makeup artist Lucia Pieroni, referring to the models’ look. Each was given a Fifties-style eyebrow, a smidgen of eyeliner and some nude-color, matte contouring on her face.
