To complement Peter Som’s graphic collection, Eugene Souleiman, lead stylist for Wella Professionals, created a look he described as “bad hair for a bad girl from a rich family.” The soft, slightly tousled style, which also alluded to the Sixties, featured a deep side part and swooped bangs. “It’s an undone approach,” said Souleiman. For extra volume, models were given hair extensions, tinted in shades described as “rose gold, peach, apricot and salmon,” by Aura Friedman of the Serge Normant Salon, who also serves as Wella Professionals color ambassador. Inspired by femininity and pastel punk culture, Friedman matched hair color to the model’s natural shade for to achieve a “warm spectrum.”

When it came to makeup, Tom Pecheux, for MAC, wanted girls to look “made up” but in a “cool, playful way.” Pecheux made eyes pop with Young Venus Extra Dimension eye shadow, a new product launching in spring 2012, on eyelids, layered with Fig 1 Eye Shadow and Pro Indian Ink Small Eyeshadow Pro Palette. Lash lines were defined by Pro Rich Purple Chromagraphic Pencil and both top and bottom lashes coated with Coal Black Pro Lash Mascara.“[It’s the] flavor of the Sixties with a banana purple eye,” said the lead makeup artist. To perfect complexions and provide a contouring effect, Pecheux applied Pro Sculpt Sculpting Powder Pro Palette and Fleur Powder Blush Peaches Sheertone Blush on the apples of the cheek. To complete the face, he rubbed Innocence. Beware! Lipstick, also available this coming spring, onto lips for a natural, glossy stain effect.
