Deconstructed hair in a windswept sculpture was hairstylist Paul Hanlon’s Marni girl, fresh from the airport runway. Hair was prepped with Tigi Bed Head Superstar Queen for a Day Thickening Spray and pinned into softly asymmetric form held by L’Oréal Elnett hair spray. A fracturing process to echo Marni designer Consuelo Castiglioni’s graphic-print geometry was branded into the hair using a taught elastic band that was stretched and blasted with hot air.

Clean lines and Fifties eccentricity was the look for makeup artist Tom Pecheux’s Marni girl, who he described as, “colorful, powerful and playful — but also invisible.”

Cognac eyeliner in a strong, straight line was created by mixing MAC Cosmetics’ Select Cover Up Color Corrector in terra-cotta and caramel hues, evocative of aged leather that Pecheux explained was ubiquitous in Castiglioni’s accessories collection. MAC Sculpt Foundation and Invisible Powder was used to set the eye.
White Chromaline and Gesso Eye Shadow covered the lid. The summery effect of a white eye was further reinforced by an alabaster waterline smeared in MAC Eye Kohl in Fascinating.

Cheeks were left bare, drawing attention to lips brushed with MAC Orange Lipmix, the natural lip color peeking through the center.

“If you have a playful mind, this is for you. If you’re conservative, it’s not for you — although maybe it will help open your mind!” Pecheux grinned.
