Dark hair and black eyes gave a sexy, gypsy-chic aesthetic at creative director Peter Dundas’ spring 2012 Emilio Pucci women’s collection.

Makeup artist Lisa Butler created a duo-tone big eye to avoid pitfalls of a derivative bohemian look. “The clothes are gypsy so you have to be careful. You don’t want to go in and give it too much color, you know? It has to be believable,” she said in reference to the striking black and bronze syncopation for the eyes.
Black pencil and eye shadow were laid down and highly blended underneath the bottom and lower corner of the eye. MAC Metal-X Cream Shadow in Venetian Tarnish, launching for spring 2012, was pressed all over the lid.

Unregimented brows were drawn in and varied between girls for a customizable feel. There was very little product on the skin and a bit of lip gloss wash on the lips. 

“Gypsy couture” is how hairstylist Luigi Murenu approached the look, starting with a severe, deep side part for long, extension-filled hair. To aid in creating a soft, tousled wave, John Frieda Collection Luxurious Volume Thickening Blow-Dry Lotion was added. A low ponytail secured the hair, held by a Pucci foulard. John Frieda Luxurious Volume All Out Hold Hair Spray held it all in place.
