WWD went behind the scenes at the spring show.

Dean and Dan Caten brought rocker chic, indie, grunge and boho-chic into the spotlight by setting their spring 2012 collection in a muddy England campground at the annual Glastonbury music festival.

British makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury, who recalled wild memories as a former Glastonbury festival girl, broke the face down into three looks.

The hippie boho-chic face was the most natural, created with light foundation, drawn-on freckles and a natural lip.

The classic rock chick was pure metal, eyes layered with carbon black and blue eyeliner and a pewter-silver black eye shadow, all from MAC Cosmetics. To add a rock and roll spirit, loads of grease and gloss were added to the eyelid for a lived-in look.

The most intricate face was the glam rock girl inspired by Ziggy Stardust. MAC Metal X Cream Shadow Venetian Tarnish was laid along the brow and dropped down to the eyes. Layers of MAC Rush Metal Eyeshadow Pigments in silver and gold tones gave a slightly homemade, wild look.

A semi-permanent nail polish by Gellish coated the girls’ nails in Viola Neon.

When questioned if hairstylist Sam McKnight had delved into grunge with his undone look, he said, “Not really. This season’s more fun than grunge. Let’s call it ‘funge!’”

By adding Pantene Aqua Light Lightweight Nourishing Mist to hair, he created a slightly-unwashed look followed by Pantene Pro-V Secret Support Mousse Strong for body. Blue and pink hair extensions were threaded into a handful of girls’ hair for a tease of punk attitude.
