“It’s sporty and a little Twenties-esque,” said Neil Moodie, who styled hair backstage at BCBG Thursday morning for Bumble and bumble. “It’s a play on hard and soft as well as a focus on athleticism.” Moodie, who channeled Bond girl Barbara Bach’s beachy beauty, applied Bumble and bumble Prep layered with Thickening Spray to prime hair. He then used a diffuser and finger-combing technique to incorporate texture into the style. Next, Moodie added ample amounts of Bb Gel, at the roots, from the crown to the front of the head, so that the hair would stay smoothed back. “The gel keeps the hair contained,” said Moodie, who created “soft, loose waves” in the ungelled portion of the hair with a fat curling iron, for a “wet to dry” effect.” “I wanted it to look like her hair was drying in the sun,” said Moodie. To finish the style, Moodie spritzed on Bb Shine Spray, right before the models walked the runway, so strands would “glisten” and look “dewy.”

Charlotte Willer, for Maybelline, took a “less is more” approach when it came to makeup at BCBG. “This is a girl who just went running, then takes a shower, coming out looking flawless,” said Willer, who emphasized that her goal was to allow the models to “look like themselves.” Willer conservatively applied Maybelline Fit Me Foundation, where needed, to perfect the complexion. She also dusted on Fit Me Pressed Powder on the T-zone and Fit Me Blush in Deep Rose to areas of the face that “would flush naturally.” Finally, Maybelline’s new Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm, launching in October, was applied to lips and lids in order to “pick up light” and impart “a little sparkle” to the face.
