Front Row at Louis Vuitton

Alexa Chung and Daisy Lowe were among the celebrities who sat front row at the spring show.

Worlds collided at Louis Vuitton, where It Girls Alexa Chung and Daisy Lowe shared V.I.P. billing with activist Ali Hewson, a.k.a. Mrs Bono. While Chung and friends compared notes on living in New York City, Hewson spoke of helping farmers in Northern Uganda through Edun, the ethical clothing label she and her rock star husband founded in 2005 to encourage trade with Africa.

“We’re a tiny company but we kind of have big ideas, but we need to grow to be able to do more,” she said. LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton last year took a 49 percent stake in the firm, and features the couple — wearing Edun — in its latest “Core Values” ad campaign. “They’re giving us the business know how and the ability to really increase our own capabilities and deliver,” Hewson said.

The luxury group’s reach was also evident in its front row lineup, which included Fan Bing Bing, Delfina Delettrez, Marie-Josée Croze, Margareth Madè, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Caroline Sieber and Rita Ora. Rising star Jessica Chastain said she was chafing for all her movie projects to finally hit the big screen. “I have nine films in the can and it’s so exciting to actually have them come out now,” she exclaimed. Joséphine de La Baume said she was playing a spy in “Johnny English Reborn,” a sequel to the James Bond spoof starring Rowan Atkinson, and recording an album with her band SingTank in collaboration with legendary producer Nellee Hooper. Model Camille Rowe Pourcheresse said she is in talks to start in her first movie, but her lips were sealed. “It’s a first-time director. It’s someone quite famous, so for the moment, she — it’s a woman — does not want to talk about it,” she said cryptically.
