Dean and Dan Caten plan to be at Dsquared for the long haul — the duo just signed a new 17-year contract with Staff International, the Italian company owned by Diesel’s Renzo Rosso that produces the designer brand. “It means Renzo knows we’re going to be here and we can do things to invest in the brand,” said Dan Caten, who sat front row at the Diesel Black Gold show on Monday. Caten added he was in New York scouting locations downtown for a potential Dsquared store. “We already have 10 freestanding stores in Europe and Asia, including two stores opening in Greece this month,” said Caten. “I would love to have a New York store, but it has to be the right space.”
“Boardwalk Empire” starlet Paz de la Huerta vamped it up for the cameras in a skintight dress at the show, while a more demure Lou Doillon was content to chat about her upcoming performance of Samuel Beckett’s “The Image” at the Centre Dramatique National d’Orléans later this month. “I did it two years ago in New York with P.S. 1 and now I’m doing it again in France. It’s just 80 seats a night and a very limited run of one month,” she said. “It’s just me and a contemporary dancer and a contemporary musician.” Diesel was the sole show Doillon took in this week, apart from walking in Tom Ford’s secretive presentation the night before. “I’m off to France tonight. I have to start rehearsals,” she noted at Diesel.
