“It’s my first Paris show,” enthused Alexander Wang, invited to Valentino on Tuesday by his stylist friend Karl Templer.

CITY OF LIGHT: “It’s my first Paris show,” enthused Alexander Wang, invited to Valentino on Tuesday by his stylist friend Karl Templer. Besides selling his collection to buyers here, the New York-based designer went to the famous Clingancourt market and scored some lamps. “It puts New York flea markets to shame, I have to say, but they only take cash.”

Silvia Venturini Fendi declared that moving the Milan shows to Rome would suit her just dandily. “I think Rome is the perfect place for creative happenings,” she said. “Gucci is there, Valentino. We are Roman — why not?”

Actress Inés Sastre said she just wrapped her latest Lancôme campaign, as well as serving as the face of Mademoiselle sunglasses. Alice Dellal had sister Charlotte in tow. “Mom loves Valentino, so I’ve been to a fair few before,” she said. Ever the model, Alice, who’s now signed to Next management, was wearing a spiked ring designed by friend Dominic Jones and duly thrust her hand forward for inspection.
