STILL LIFE: Michael Stipe said meetings in Paris about R.E.M.’s next album, recorded live in Dublin, put him in pole position to indulge an interest in fashion. “I’m really looking forward to Margiela,” he said at Balmain on Thursday. “I’m doing sculpture now,” he added, describing objects he renders in bronze, such as cameras or clock radios.
Down the row, Gaia Repossi and Eugénie Niarchos showed off rings from their latest Repossi collection to pals, including Vanessa Traina and Julia Restoin Roitfeld. “They’re from our new floral theme that we’ll be presenting,” said Niarchos. “It’s very organic.”
