The New Girls: Gen Art Los Angeles

Gen Art¿s ¿Fresh Faces in Fashion¿ event was a showcase for new talent hailing from the West Coast.

Gen Art’s “Fresh Faces in Fashion” event was a showcase for new talent hailing from the West Coast. Femininity and fun were the orders of the day at Laeken, the first collection from Mallyce Miller, consisting mainly of dresses in tie-dye silks and bright plaids. Michelle Williams’ playful lineup for Quail also upped the girly factor, as in ruched and ruffled frocks with a Fifties pinup vibe. Maxine Dillon added a masculine touch to her feminine collection with vests and pants in billowy silk satin in a palette resembling Sweet Lady Jane’s mixed berry cake. Meanwhile, Sandra Sandor’s loose teatime dresses and separates for Nanushka felt light as air. And Meredith Fisher’s casual dresses in a palette of white, dusty rose and beige for Wayf were all about sexy simplicity.
