Akris is a house built on ultraluxe, sleek and chic tailoring in the highest-quality fabrics out there. For spring, Albert Kriemler satisfied those core requirements and then some with his lineup of sharp coats and suits made serene by the calm palette of white, dove gray and ice blue. Clean coatdresses with cap and three-quarter sleeves were cut to perfection in Kriemler’s subtle architectural style, as were trousers and sheath dresses, all well done with a no-nonsense sensibility. Lest things get too serious, Kriemler showed his softer, sexier side with his take on transparency — plunging V-necks veiled with sheer tulle, cutouts at the back of jackets, sheer sleeves, insets and hems — as well as delightful digital floral prints done on filmy silk georgette dresses, some sweeping, some short and sleeved. It made for an elegant moment that far outshone a few of Kriemler’s trickier trappings, overdone pleating and jersey jumpsuits festooned with flounces.
