Natural Beauty at William Rast
It was all about an “all-American look” backstage at William Rast. The hair and makeup was inspired by Justin Timberlake’s country origins back in Tennessee.
“We were going after a fresh and young look that’s very natural, as if you just got off a tractor after a long day at work or got out of the shower and let your hair dry naturally,” said hairstylist Edward Tricomi of Warren-Tricomi Salons, whose team helped with hair and makeup.
“This is a fresh, heartland look that’s moving into the urban scene,” he added. To help create the look, Tricomi used Warren-Tricomi Spray Wax mixed with water to add dimension and texture to the hair.
Makeup artist Jendrey kept the look as natural as possible, “as if she’s not wearing any makeup at all,” she said.
“We wanted to make the makeup look as if she just went horseback riding and got a slight tan with rosy cheeks.”
To re-create this soft look, she used brown mascara on the eyelashes and a neutral cream color shadow by MAC Cosmetics called Pearl, with a soft pink shade called Jest on the eyelids. To make the skin look dewy, she used a sheer iridescent powder topped off with some bronzer. On the lips, she used a soft pink gloss by MAC called Love Nectar.
