Makeup artist Lisa Butler did a polished look while hairstylist Luigi Murenu went for a contemporary Grace Kelly.
Makeup artist Lisa Butler did a polished look while hairstylist Luigi Murenu went for a contemporary Grace Kelly at Tommy Hilfiger Thursday evening.
“It’s a bit all-American,” said Butler, who was working on behalf of MAC Cosmetics. “It’s very clean, polished and groomed — there’s not too much makeup.”
Butler smoothed out the face using concealer, then mineral powder “to get that sort of glaze.” She brushed a coral blush shade high on the cheeks, then up and around the eyes, and added a “vanilla ice cream” color to the inner corners of the eyes. “It’s pretty easy,” she said, adding a wisp of mascara. “Casual, groomed, but finished.”
Murenu, who is artistic consultant for Kérastase, called the look he did “graphic, but it has a sense of minimalism, too.”
“It’s a modern Grace Kelly,” he added. “There’s a hint of wave when the hair [is put] back. It’s soft and natural.”
The down dos, which were supplemented with hair extensions, featured a slight wave, thanks to the sparing use of a curling iron, and locks were held off the face with three gold-colored, metal headbands.
“We are accessorizing the hair with three bands,” said Murenu, who used mousse to texturize the hair, then finished the look with a touch of serum on the ends.
