Bardot Looks at Rock & Republic
“It’s a modern version of the Brigitte Bardot look which was savage but glamorous — full but not big” said Souleiman. “I wanted something that was sexy and raw in terms of the texture but still very classy,” he added. Souleiman made a small part down the middle and added extensions for a thicker look.
For volume, he slightly teased the hair at the crown and applied Wella’s Ocean Sprizz at the roots to help give the hair a gritty quality and make it easier to tease. He also gave the hair some movement by using a curling iron to create a wave.
For the makeup, Jeanine Lobell dipped into the new collection of Rock & Republic Cosmetics, which is due to land on counters next Tuesday. To create a dramatic, feminine look, Lobell used smoky eyes from a blend of gray shades. As the base shade, she used Saturate Eye Colour in Ciggy, followed by Asphalt on the lid, which is a matte lead-colored shadow. Along the lash line, she used a smoky black shadow called Fatalistic. On the face she used Trickery Tinted Illuminizer to give the face a fresh and luminescent glow. For a natural flush of color and rosy cheeks, Lobell applied Rock & Republic’s Imitate Mousse Blush in Rumor or Scandal.
To balance the strong eye, Lobell wanted an understated, pale lip so she used a nude gloss called Luxe Lip Gloss in Imposter or Vacant.
