To complement the airy, natural hues from Issey Miyake’s collection Tuesday, makeup artist Miyako Okamoto kept things clean and clear.
“The concept of the show came from the Amazon rain forests, so I wanted a simple face,” she explained.
Over foundation she applied white eye shadow, both by show-sponsor Shiseido, in a wide circle around the socket. Lips, cheeks and eyelashes went bare.
Hairstylist Kazunori Miyasaka followed suit, with sleek, center-parted ponytails and chignons. “Because it’s great for showing off the collection’s high collars,” he explained.
The model’s long manes were blow-dried, straightened, then gathered at the nape of the neck, leaving a few strands free to be wrapped around the fastening.
Mistings of Shiseido Professional hair spray finished the look.
