Tribal Tresses at Dior
“It’s a tribal look that we’ve kept young and fresh by adding a fringe,” he explained.
The complex creation was achieved by adding an inverted cone-shaped headpiece, covered in hair matched to the model’s own. Three-inch sections were then crimped and wrapped up and around the structure. The look was finished with a choppy fringe piece.
Makeup artist Pat McGrath complemented the style with “a gorgeous, healthy face,” she said. “I see it as slightly African, but with a modern twist.”
Using mostly earth tones, McGrath created three looks, for day through to eveningwear. The lightest featured lined eyes with a tiny wing, shimmering cheeks and natural lips with a very strong gloss.
The second added a darker, caramel lip, while the strongest went for all-out glamour with “smoky, mysterious eyes” helped by false eyelashes, said McGrath.
Dark lips and false nails painted black completed the look.
