Balmain Looks Come Clean
Natural and sexy were the beauty watchwords at Balmain.
“The clothes are so sparkling and strong that we’re balancing that with a clean, matte face,” said makeup artist Tom Pecheux backstage on Sunday.
To nail the look, he plumped for barely-there pink lipstick and creamy pale brown blush from MAC Cosmetics, which was a sponsor of the show. Lids went unpainted, while eyes got a coat of black mascara on the upper lashes, and brown on the bottom. A smudge of brown liner added gentle definition.
Hairstylist Sam McKnight kept locks loose and tousled. Cleanly washed hair was given a spritz of Pantene Volumizing Hairspray at the roots for lift, a touch of serum on the ends, and then fingered through — no brushing allowed. “The look is unpolished confidence — the models are themselves…plus,” he said.
