Aquascutum's Sophisticated Ladies

Samantha Hillerby tapped ponytails to give coifs a sophisticated edge at Aquascutum Tuesday.
“It’s a little bit ladylike and sophisticated, but it has an ease to it,” said Hillerby, who was working with L’Oréal Professionnel Tecni.art. “The strictness comes from the center parting and the hair worn over the ears, while the ease is from the texture, which is very soft.”
Hillerby worked Tecni.art Volume Lift mousse into roots to give texture and volume before blow-drying the hair using fingers rather than brushes in order to maintain natural texture. Hair extensions were also added. Hair was secured in ponytails at the nape of the neck and the look was finished with Infinium hair spray.
Eyes were the focus for makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury, who was working with MAC Cosmetics. She created an elongated eye by inking a purple swoosh along upper lids using a purple shade of Chromaline, a product being tested backstage.
To give gloss to the eye, a mixture of clear Lipglass, Iridescent Powder in Silver Dusk and Chromaline was smoothed over the lid. Iridescent Powder was also applied to the inner corners of the eyes, while lashes were curled and coated with Pro Lash mascara. A light dusting of Iridescent Powder was used as a highlighter on the face, while the apples of the cheeks were accentuated using Blushcreme in Brit Wit and Lilicent.
