SHOWGIRLS: What did the ladies, both on and off the runway, have in common at the Jean Paul Gaultier couture show Wednesday afternoon? They all know how to put on a show. Dita Von Teese strutted her stuff on the catwalk in a butterfly-inspired ensemble while several generations of leading ladies looked on.

Veterans like Catherine Deneuve, Farida Khelfa and Arielle Dombasle sat alongside youngsters including Aïssa Maïga, Paz Vega and Olga Kurylenko at the theatrical show.

Senegal-born Maïga — best known internationally for her role in Cédric Klapisch’s 2005 movie “Russian Dolls” — could soon become a more familiar face on silver screens. She said she is in negotiations for a movie project abroad, but was keeping quiet about the details until signing on the dotted line.
