Front Row at Giorgio Armani Privé Spring Couture 2011

Jodie Foster, Olivia Wilde and Sophia Loren sat front row at Giorgio Armani Privé.

ALL FOR GIORGIO: Jodie Foster’s wardrobe in “Taxi Driver” as a teenager has influenced designers including Marc Jacobs, who channeled it in his current collection, but Giorgio Armani’s couture show on Monday was a first for the actress. Foster, in Paris shooting the Roman Polanski-directed “God of Carnage” opposite Kate Winslet, was having pangs of fashion envy. “Her character is way better dressed than mine,” she said, explaining her character “works in a bookstore.”

“She’s such an inspiration,” purred Italian actress Asia Argento.

L’Oréal heiress Liliane Bettencourt caused a buzz by showing up with daughter Françoise Bettencourt-Meyers, with whom she recently reconciled following a long and bitter legal battle. As Sophia Loren courted the flashbulbs, dripping in diamonds, British model and socialite Poppy Delevigne hobnobbed with model Amber Le Bon, who said she has a big project lined up for London Fashion Week. Delevigne is about to jet to Los Angeles to audition for TV pilots, but was worried about her height — 5 feet 10 — being an obstacle because of the shortage of tall leading men. “I’m like, for god’s sake, can’t men just wear high heels or something? Sort it out! Yellow Pages? Anything?” she joked.

After the show, clients and VIPs wedged into Mathis for dinner.
