Odile Benjamin’s collection for Raoul had two distinct inspirations.

Odile Benjamin’s collection for Raoul had two distinct inspirations. One was the work of artist Pierre Soulages, whose bold white-and-black brushstrokes were interpreted in the designer’s lattice work: sheaths and soft gowns with a grid effect on top and long-sleeve pullovers with openwork done in grosgrain ribbon. Benjamin also looked to the famed Parker Hotel in Palm Springs, Calif. — specifically its vividly colored surroundings and outdoor furniture — to inform color-blocked shifts, sunray pleated skirts worn with textured wool jackets and the most literal poolside look, a palazzo jumpsuit.
