Fresh and sporty formed the baseline of the Maiyet resort collection, which president and creative director Kristy Caylor likened to new takes on a uniform, whether tennis or “what you wish your school uniform looked like.” The precise simplicity of a white shirt, shorts and a trapeze dress with black straps — a lingerie reference — was a solid, clean foundation for the label’s exotic surface signatures, such as block printing and embroidered Varanasi silks. Maiyet is also developing a nice knitwear program, done in Peru and Bolivia, where a cute mélange crop top and shorts were hand-knitted.
