Michael Kors suggested resort should be renamed “destination,” and perhaps not just in a literal sense. “It’s the only time of year you think about your life and where you’re going,” said the designer, who is getting ready to accept the lifetime achievement award next week from the CFDA. He hits the key destinations: the mountains, city and beach, offering crossover clothes that could work in each setting, starting with luxurious organic cashmere knits in boxy sweaters, cozy cardigans and relaxed sweatpants. For the gal who prefers warmer weather, there are chic easy trousers, safari-inspired shirts, a python coat, ombré cashmere T-shirt dresses, saronglike skirts and plenty of sexy swimwear. It’s relaxed sportswear that doesn’t lose a bit of luxury.
