Costume National Pre-Fall 2015

Capasa filled his lineup with tailored suiting and outerwear in contrasting colors of black, white and camel with fur accents.

Ennio Capasa was called upon by his friend Marina Abramovic to collaborate with her on the annual Art of Elysium Heaven Gala, which opened in L.A. on Saturday. As to be expected under Abramovic’s artistic direction, the gala was an immersive artistic experience — guests were given beds, pajamas and asked not to speak — and Capasa also used the event to stage a small showing of his pre-fall collection.

Toying with the idea of heaven as a place where light and dark meet, a concept imagined by Abramovic, Capasa filled his lineup with tailored suiting and outerwear in contrasting colors of black, white and camel with fur accents. A rock ’n’ roll vibe reverberated throughout, courtesy of oversize grommets, crystals and even feathers — a not-so-subtle nod to “fallen angels.”
