NEW BEGINNINGS: Fresh from the premiere of Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut “Lost River,” in which he stars opposite Christian Hendricks, French actor Reda Kateb is trying his own hand.
“I will start directing my first short in September,” he said, sitting front row at Lanvin on Sunday morning. “The story recounts one day in the lives of two brothers, a clown and a cowboy, and I’m playing the cowboy. Plus, there is going to be a lot of children, so you see I’m doing it the hard-core way.”
Kateb said he really wanted to do comedy, “and it’s not easy to find something good in French. French humor is very particular, and I’m more Anglo-Saxon. I like Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller and those guys.”
Kid Cudi was striking a pose showing off his newly dyed blond hair. “But I’m not trying to start a new trend,” the rapper assured, chatting with Victor Cruz and Elaina Watley, another blond.
