SHINE A LIGHT: Among the guests taking in the set of thick electrical cables powering giant lamps at the Lanvin men’s show in Paris on Sunday was Marcel Odenbach.

The German video artist said he was gearing up for two major exhibitions. “Works on Paper 1975-2013” will go on show at the Kunstmuseum Bonn in September, while a retrospective of his work, sponsored by Germany’s Foreign Ministry, will kick off a 10-year world tour in Mexico City in March 2014.

“We selected some works which are typical for me in the last 35 years, but on the other hand, we also selected some works that deal with certain countries’ issues,” he said. “For example, I did a work about India which will definitely be included in the show when it tours through Asia. I did a piece about Brazil, about Rwanda, so we give the show certain specific points for each continent.”
