Stephen Dorff Channels Steve McQueen

Actor appears in new Hogan ads.

ALL ABOUT STEVE: Photographed on a movie set in Cinecittà for the Hogan fall campaign, Stephen Dorff felt the “old movies glamour” vibe and a connection with Steve McQueen. “It’s strange but my mum always told me that I reminded her of Steve McQueen, and Diego Della Valle [chief executive officer of Tod’s SpA, which owns Hogan] loves him, and that was the look we were going for,” said Dorff ahead of the brand’s presentation in Milan on Saturday.

Asked about his personal feelings for McQueen, Dorff was equally endorsing. “He was a true movie star, I love him and how he could be flawed but still a real hero,” he said. Dorff, who was directed by Sofia Coppola in “Somewhere” two years ago, has four movies due out, including “Zaytoun.” “I play an Air Force pilot in 1982, ending up in Beirut two weeks before the Lebanon war, and the movie is about my journey with a Palestinian boy and how we grow to care for each other,” said Dorff.

Next year, other flicks lined up are “The Motel Life,” with Dakota Fanning, and “Tomorrow You’re Gone,” with Michelle Monaghan and Willem Dafoe.
