FAST CAR: Dior Homme’s eclectic front row on Saturday had Chinese film star Dou Xiao rubbing shoulders with rapper Usher and arty filmmaker Radu Mihaileanu. Dou just wrapped a movie in China in which he plays a Grand Prix racing driver. “It was pretty crazy. We had a guy who did stunts for me but I did all of the driving myself,” he said. Stanislas  Merhar has also been shooting in Asia — Cambodia, to be precise. He plays the title character in director Chantal Akerman’s film adaptation of the Joseph Conrad novel “Almayer’s Folly,” due to premiere at the Venice Film Festival. “The role was very difficult and it was hot,” he recalled with a grimace.

French actress Chloé Lambert said she will soon be headlining a play she penned called “On Se Cache Des Choses,” which translates as “We’re Not Telling Each Other Everything,” at the Théâtre Marigny in Paris. “It’s about a woman who can't sleep, who engages in imaginary conversations with three people,” she said.  Jérémie Elkaïm was just back from Cannes, where he presented two films. In "Declaration of War," directed by and starring his former partner, Valérie Donzelli, they play a couple wrestling over their child's cancer diagnosis. The pair, who have two children, are starting work on another movie together soon.

Bad boy singer Benjamin Biolay is adjusting to his new status as a romantic leading man, following the success of his recently released wedding comedy "Bachelor Days Are Over." "I'll never be very mainstream, I think, at least not musically," he mused, adding that he was working on his next album. DJ Andy Butler, meanwhile, was keeping a cool head despite a busy summer schedule that included playing the Glastonbury festival on Sunday. "I’m trying to write as many film scores as possible," he said. "I want to move outside of the popular culture realm, but not for any other reason than it’s a little quieter, and I like that."
