Antonio Marras Men's RTW Fall 2015

Marras said his fall collection was born from the convergence of two different personalities.

Antonio Marras said his fall collection was born from the convergence of two different personalities. One is Sardinian artist Costantino Nivola, who left his island to move to the Hamptons with his wife Ruth Guggenheim, the other is Travis Bickle, the main character in “Taxi Driver.” In keeping with the inspiration, the show’s set included a New York yellow cab placed next to a desk where a model was typing on a vintage typewriter. The collection combined a very urban feel with a sophistication that mainly emerged in the fur patchworking and in the instarsia appearing on parkas realized with vintage military blankets. Marras also worked fabrics showing micro patterns for suits with fitted pants, unusual for the designer. While a slightly retro feeling ran through the lineup, especially in the velvet suits with a Seventies attitude — Bickle’s era — the overall look was young and modern.
