This Italian fabric mill, founded in 1733, has unveiled its first full ready to wear collection thanks to Vasiliy Piacenza, one of the eighth generation of family members to run the company. The collection, on display at the firm's new showroom in Zona Tortona, was a luxe mix of knits, wovens and knits masquerading as wovens. Among the standouts were a tailored navy blue car coat with a fly front that, from afar, looked as if it had been fashioned from woven fabric, and a short duffel coat with horn buttons — both of which were buttery soft. Versatile items included a reversible knit sweatshirt that came with matching bottoms, and a reversible cashmere-lined nylon jacket. A slew of cardigans, pullovers, and polo neck sweaters boasted contrasting piping or collars, or quirky trompe l'oeil zippers and fastenings. A women's collection is in the pipeline, and is set to debut in February 2015.
