Topman Design Men's RTW Fall 2013

The show was akin to watching a young man grow up as he journeys through the wildernesses of Tibet, eventually ending up back in the city as a man.

The British tradition of the “gap year” — 12 months of travel and adventure that some students embark upon between high school and college — was the springboard for this utterly charming collection. The show was akin to watching a young man grow up as he journeys through the wildernesses of Tibet, eventually ending up back in the city as a man. Cropped and oversized parkas were worn over metallic knitwear, or double-breasted blazers, while double-pleat trousers were tucked into woolly socks and hiking boots. Boiled wool pea coats were printed with Tibetan mandala graphics, first in tones of stone and putty, then in richer spice hues. The outsized backpacks — complete with leather flasks and iPod holders — heightened the sense of fun and adventure.
