Photographer Steve McCurry and violinist Ray Chen took in the show.

HELP WANTED: Before Giorgio Armani’s show Tuesday, photographer Steve McCurry, who just presented his Pirelli 2013 calendar, said he shares with the designer and his niece Roberta an interest in charitable work. “We are talking about a collaboration on Haiti to raise awareness and money to improve lives there and make a contribution,” McCurry said.

Violinist Ray Chen said he performed at La Scala on Monday night to benefit Fondazione Candia, an association that helps children and the needy in Brazil. “It’s a better feeling when you know you are doing good and the Italians are such a warm audience,” said Chen, who has performances scheduled in Detroit and New York next month.

After the show, Armani treated journalists assembled for a press conference to an impromptu performance by Chen of Niccolò Paganini’s “Caprice No. 21.”
